It seems we still need to cover a few things with the check in process at The Best Fricken Hotel In America.
When you approach the the desk, at any hotel, best thing to do is state the name of the person who has made the reservation. Plain and simple!
We don't need or want to look at your phone. In fact if you are handing me a phone, I am going to assume that it is a gift, and that you will keep paying the bill for me. BONUS ME!
I am happy you took the time to print off a few pages from the internet. What you are showing me, is directions and something that has information about my hotel on it. Yeah, Thanks but no thanks. I know where I am at, and I know ALLLL about my hotel. I am not lost, so you really shouldn't have printed me anything. Your name will suffice.
Giving me YOUR name will not help, UNLESS it is YOU, who has made the reservation. How do I know that you are rooming with Mr.Dipshit, when he hasn't even listed more then one person in the room? It's OK to say I am rooming with Mr. Dipshit, I am his Lover Dumb Shit, he is parking the car. At least if you gave me the correct name I can start on the paperwork. Instead I end up pissing YOU off because I didn't know who you were or who you were with.
So, does everyone have it now? State the the name of the person who has made the reservation.
Thanks, have a nice day
LIFE AS A HOTEL DESK CLERK, DEFINITLY HAS IT'S UP'S AND DOWN'S, BUT THESE ARE TRUE FACTUAL STORIES FROM WHAT HAPPENS BETWEEN 11PM AND 7AM.

Still Funny
Here is a very basic conversation that went from ok.. to horribly funny in about a minutes time.
Me: Pick up on A side
Driver: Marrrrrshsssa! (they always overly say my name) Yes, pick up
Wait 10 minutes.....
Driver: Marrrrrrrrshsssa, you say A side?
Me: Yes, A side
Driver: A?
Me: Yes, A as in Apple
Me: A as in AIR that you breathe ( or wont be when I see you)
ME: A as in ASS hat.
Driver: Maarrrrrrrrsssha, It's me Leo ( Like I didn't know it was you?) did you say A side? It sounds like your saying A
Me: YES! AAAA ---A as in ORANGUTAN!!!!! ( Also said as a mater of fact that I could never be wrong)
Just proves that sometimes, even I make mistakes, but at least I am funny when I do it.

My review
This is a Review about my hotel, and ME. It is on another web page, I copied it and will fill in the missing pieces of her story, because obvisouly she left out a lot. My comments will be in red, and stated how I feel about the situation. None of this reflects on the hotel I work for, or the people associated with it. Thus, no actions can be taken upon me for my feelings and personal thoughts. This blog is my personal opinions, and even though material was taken from a public web sight, my Blog is not public.
We checked in for one night after staying in Walt Disney World (Port Orleans) whoopdee dooo for you since we had an early flight the next morning (7:30am) and the kicker was that we didn't realize it was daylight savings time (the Hotel signs posted everywhere reminding us, which was good Because we are awesome like that). To start off, we ended up at the airport to be picked up to check into our hotel. If you were at disney why didnt you pay to stay there one more night, and take there shuttle in the morning? OH BECAUSE YOUR A DUMB ASS. When I called to be picked up, the associate told me where to go to meet the van and they would be there in 25 minutes. I arrived at the area within a few minutes of the stated time and there were a few other guests waiting in the same area. When the van pulled up, we stood in line at the back of the van to give the driver our luggage. My 3 year old was sleeping in his stroller because it was pretty late (10:30pm). A bunch of other people rushed the van and jumped in with their luggage instead of giving it to the driver in the back. I kept wondering how all of us were going to fit in this van as there seemed to be more people than seats. The driver talked to another hotel van driver and asked him to take the 4 of us to our hotel after dropping off at his hotel. It was our shuttle company, and that driver works for the Ramada, which is a mile away. So off our luggage went with the Best Western driver while we went with this driver. I was worried about losing our luggage but when we finally arrived at the hotel (about 20 minutes later),thats how long it takes to get from the B side of the airport to our front door the driver was there with all luggage. You pulled up right behind our shuttle My first impression of the lobby was that it was kinda dated but a 60's / 70's kinda cool look We purchased everything from IKEA 2010 its called Retro Lady- a large white leather sofa in the lobby and some massage chairs that you could pay for a specified time. My 6 year old loved it However you screamed at him when he asked if he could try them. When we checked in, I told the associate that I needed to take the shuttle to the airport the next morning. She asked when our flight was and gave us the 5am or 6am shuttle choice. I said 6am but asked her if she thought it would be enough time but she suggested the 5am instead.I MUST suggest 2 hours in advance, like the airport suggests I was indecisive Is that what you call it? at the time and there were others waiting to check in Just one other so she told me to just call downstairs when we decided. OK STOP. As a seasoned desk clerk I saw a situation going on, and i thought you would be more focused if you just got to the room, and thought about it for a second. You kept screaming at your husband from across the lobby, and the poor guy didnt know if he should hop skip or jump for you. We got to our room and got the kids settled and then called the front desk (about 30 to 45 mins after checking in) 1 hour later to inform them of our decision to take the 5am shuttle to which they said, sorry, it is all booked being 12am, you were about the last people to check in, you saw what happened at the airport when you checked in. Don't you think others will be flying, and since you didnt take your personal jet, that perhaps, others would be going with you at on this shuttle? and they would put us on the 6am shuttle even though they only had space for 3 people but since we had kids 3 and 6 year old should fit on the bench seat with you in the back, she figured they could sit together in one seat. I was very upset because (1) at the time of check in, she did not mention that I needed to make a quick decision as the shuttle could fill up, again, you were to busy being a bitch at the desk, and barking orders you just saw what happened at the airport, you shuld have assumed. (2) I had called the hotel several times before booking inquiring about the shuttle and no mention was made that they could only take 10 guests per hour, technically its 20 guests per hour, 10 every 1/2 hour. (3) my decision to stay at this hotel was the free guest shuttle to the airport as advertised its not free, you technically pay for it in the price of a room. (again, no mention of maximum guest capacity of 10 per hour). The associate informed me we could take the 6am shuttle or they can call a cab for us to go at our leisure and that would cost us $18 that we had to pay.if our shuttle is full, and you want to go at a certain time, then the going rate is $18.00 by taxi. When I called her back to, yes, complain, that there was no mention about the guest capacity, she replied "Ma'am, we have to have some sort of control of the shuttle since we have 95 rooms. how could we take everyone to the airport at the same time and we need time to take everyone there and back which takes 15 minutes each way"This is honest truth, i did say that maybe not exact but similiar. I replied that I was not aware of the maximum and that I assumed they got more shuttles as needed for the guests since it was not advertised with a limit. I asked if they would pay for my taxi but she said no we state every hour on the hour, if your time does not fit into our time then you go by taxi. I said that was fine and that I would just write my review of the hotel when I returned. When I called back to get the taxi number (as I didn't trust her to arrange the taxi for us since she was mad at us about this whole situation I was never mad, I found you annoying) and I also asked to speak to the hotel manager at Midnight, its yours truely ONLY. She said there was not a manager on duty and when I asked his name MY supervisior is a woman, and i told you her name 3 times and you acted like you were writing it down. , she said she was looking into getting another shuttle for us at 5:30am.You obviously could not tell that I was trying to help you, and your nasty attitude. She then called us back within minutes 3 minutes to be exact that she arranged at 5:30am shuttle.A thank you would have been appreciated. AND the Bitch attitude should have been dropped at this point. We thanked her for doing this NEVER ONCE SAID THANK YOU. and asked for a 5am wake up call (mind you it was 12:30am at this point and 5am was 4am with the time change)So technically 12:30 was 11:30. I went in the bathroom to take a shower - the towels were very thin and not soft at all Granted our towels could be better, but they are not thin. . There was also a sign stating that they inventory all linens at guest checkout and we would be charged for anything missing. the same sign in ANY hotel, usually on the back of the bathroom door. They also have that sign at DISNEY The bathroom was okay - didn't notice anything actually dirty but again, it was dated. A good thing, the bathroom was large - possibly since we booked a "handicapped equipted" room for an additional discount. Because that is rude, and what if there was a handicapped guest who really needed that room? YOUR SHELFISH and I hope you never have to be handicap. The rest of the room had old furniture - probably from the early 80's Our hotel is only 10 years old, and has basic standard hotel furniture. and there was no remote control for the tv in the room which I found odd It is white, and blue, and ONTOP of the TV. There was a personal computer to use right in the room which is a bonus but we didn't use it. Not sure if there were fees for it or not.COMPLIMENTARY- and since you were on our web sight so much you must have missed that?
Lastly, to the wake up call, or should I say, calls. I still didn't trust the associate on the wake up call and worried some about the shuttle but I would deal with that if it became a problem in the morning. So I set the alarm clock in the room, set my cell phone alarm and asked for the 5am wake up call. I didn't fall asleep until after 1am and at 2am we had a wake up call. I answered, and hung up figuring, yes she was mad at me about the shuttle business and threatening to write the review. I knew if I mentioned it, she would say, that was an mistake, must have put 2am instead of 5am. Now, I was so tired that I don't remember this one but my husband said we got another wake up call at 4am - I guess I was so tired, I didn't hear that one. And, at 5am, we got the one we needed. So, I guess she got her revenge on us - good for her OK, here is my side of this part of the story. It was daylight savings time. I had to change the time on the telephone"machine" and for some reason, that rang EVERY room in the hotel. I did not know that, that was going to happen, other wise we would have changed the time earlier in the day. I started receiving calls from every guest about the miscellaneous calls, and so that made ME think, and wonder what was going on. I checked the wake up calls and not one was in the system. I had to reset all the wake ups again, but some how as I was putting them into the system, it was ringing each guest. Finally after 3am, the system started acting normal, and I was able to put in the wake up calls once again. So a total of 3 times that night I put in about 20 wake up calls. I was not trying to get revenge, i was not trying to be an asshole, I was doing my job. The phone system was having problems, its a computer, and with changes as in DLST, its bound to act up.
Over all, from the moment this guest walked in, she was a bitch. I dont know what her problem was, but it wasnt me, or my hotel. I assume she has controll issues and likes to run the show, and if things dont go her way she gets angry. I actually went out of my way to help her get a shuttle at 5:30. Technically she asked for a 5:30 shuttle when she first inquired, so that should have made her a little less bitchy. She never checked out at the desk, didnt look my way, or anything. I was standing there waiting for her. I wanted to know if she was going to say something to me. but now thinking about it, I'm glad she didn't. I think this could have been the day that I lost my job, if she did.

Bosses
I just heard my boss say several things
1. I can vibrate you better then that (speaking of a massage chair)
2. turn off the lights(an order barked at me), listen to silence, listen to the water falls.
3. give me money to make them vibrate (another order barked at me, and money out of my cash drawer)
4. turn off the tv (the 3rd order barked)
all the wile, his creepy friend with a weird raspy voice was laughing (i will have nightmares from that sound now) He was also hitting on the same girl as my boss, when there were 2 girls there. Either way, both girls were attractive, but, older then they acted, and trashier then they appeared (especially if they came back to a hotel with my boss)
and the biggest shocker was.. the 36 pack of condoms in the bag from the gas station he was carrying around.
I swear to God, he better never talk to me about professionalism.

Crazy people
7:45 A.M. and a crazy man is yelling at me because someone gave his crazy girlfriend a key to his room, and she cut up all his clothing. Funny thing to me, well actually a few things here are "funny".
#1, I have never seen the girl before in my life. Today was the first time
#2, he didnt want her to have a reciept after she used her credit card, and some cash to pay for his room. Again, it was her credit card.
#3 he was talking to her like she was a piece of crap.
#4 she pulled the fire alarms the other day, and cost my property 25,000 in damages.
#5 why would she say out of the blue "oh thats the girl that gave me the key" when they were in the middle of fighting? SHe didnt, I heard him barating (sp) her as they walked away. "is that the girl?" "tell me who the girl was" I think she got pist and said it was me, all for him to stop complaining. I have the maintenance guy on hand today to read the lock to see who made the key. But it really made me mad, and I had to stand there and be calm, very hard things for me to do. Anyway why is this girl, paying for this dumb asses room, and taking his crap when he is a useless piece of shit? I think the problem lies with in this girl. Seriously, she just paid his rent, she takes his abuse, she just LIED to him!!!!
Update: I had maintenance check the door lock, and it was not me... it just so happened to be "the day manager" HA HA HA !!!

Isnt this a gas station?
An older lady walked in around 4am, pist as hell because when her husband came in, I was unable to help him... He told me he wanted "to fill her up" In my hotel, that can mean a lot of things. So when I explained we were a hotel, he told me "my wife isn't going to like this"
In walks this lady, she bitched me out 3 different times, from 3 different spots in the lobby. And she kept insisting that it was my fault we were so "lit up"
I just smiled sweetly at her and walked her to the door. I tried explaining that maybe its because she's from out of town or something, and gas stations look like hotels there but we are unable to give her $20 dollars of unleaded anything.

Security Guards
Security Guards, are NOT, I repete ARE NOT police officers.
IF you get paid minium wage, do not have a weapon, and wear a t-shirt to work, YOU, should mind your own business.
Please do not try and play cops and crack dealers. Do not try and "set someone up" Please do not try and act like you are 7'0 400# and wear a bullet proof vest or live in a large unbreakable bubble. Something bad will evenchuly happen to you. Crack dealers and users can be smart on occasion, and figure things out. THey will soon find out you are in cahoots with the police and Roll your head down the hallway like a little bowling ball. If you do not answer your radio, when I call you with in a 2-3 minute time frame, I will assume you have been pulled into a room and are getting the shit beat out of you. I WILL NOT help you, or call the police for you, YOU did this to yourself, get yourself out of the mess.
OH and trim your mustache, you look like a monopoly character!

You get one phone call sir
A guest got arrested for his own doings. I never really met the man, so I thought it was strange when he makes his ONLY phone call back to the hotel. He asked me to call his son, girlfriend, Brother in law, mother, wife, and lover. I opted to call the brother in law, whom I knew. When he told me to go to hell, I chose the girlfriend next. I gave her all the numbers he gave me and washed my hands of it. I just find it weird, to use your only phone call, to call the hotel where you’re staying at. Was I the only person awake, or the only person who would answer the call?

ARMPITS
A girl came into my hotel tonight, and asked me to fax her some papers, I had no problems with this. She also asked to borrow my pen, so I handed it over. After signing her name on the page, she took the pen and scratched her armpit. She even did the “ohh yeah” as in she finally got that Itch. She then looked at the pen, and noticed there was a CLUNK of deodorant on the end, and said, out loud “ man I didn’t know deodorant stayed on that long, its been a week” She then laid the pen back on the counter, with the clunk of junk on the end. She then pointed out to me 3 times she left the pen on my desk. WHAT are some people thinking?

This is funny
Husband and wife are traveling by car from Key West to Boston
After almost twenty-four hours on the road, they're too tired to continue, and they decide to stop for a rest.
They stop at a nice hotel and take a room, but they only plan to sleep for four hours and then get back on the road.
When they check out four hours later, the desk clerk hands them a bill for $350.00.
The man explodes and demands to know why the charge is so high.
He tells the clerk although it's a nice hotel, the rooms certainly aren't worth $350.00!
When the clerk tells him $350.00 is the standard rate, the man insists on speaking to the Manager.
The Manager appears, listens to the man, and then explains that the hotel has an Olympic-sized pool and a huge conference center that were available for the husband and wife to use.
"But we didn't use them," the man complains.
"Well, they are here, and you could have," Explains the Manager.
He goes on to explain they could have taken in one of the shows for which the hotel is famous.
"The best entertainers from New York, Hollywood and Las Vegas perform here," the Manager says.
"But we didn't go to any of those shows," complains the man again.
"Well, we have them, and you could have," the Manager replies.
No matter what amenity the Manager mentions, the man replies, "But we didn't use it!"
The Manager is unmoved, and eventually the man gives up and agrees to pay. He writes a check and gives it to the Manager.
The Manager is surprised when he looks at the check. "But sir," he says, this check is only made out for $50.00."
"That's correct," says the man. "I charged you $300.00 for sleeping with my wife."
"But I didn't!" exclaims the Manager.
"Well, too bad," the man replies. "She was here and you could have."

The following is a list of things that PISS ME OFF: (its long-but if you travel often, read it)
1) Guests who do not listen. Look sir/ma'am: I just went over every single detail regarding your stay. Where to park, breakfast schedule, amenities and how to reach me if you should need further assistance. Chances are, I've already gone over my little bullshit speech 400 times by the time you even thought about checking in. So pretty fucking please- DO NOT- tune me out and then ask, "Where can I park?" It makes my eye twitch.....but I will always tell you again. (assholes)
2) I wish I could promise that the magnetic strip on your key will work %100 of the time.....but I cannot. Its just not within my power. So please don't come down to the front desk and yell at me. Contrary to your belief- I am not trying to ruin your day. I will always make you a new key so that you may be on your merry way. Besides- we have an elevator you lazy fuck. Its not like you had to go on a jungle safari to make your way to the lobby. :-)
3) I love a good PORNO- don't you? After a hard day of work nothing is better than whacking off to some bleach blond chick licking her own nipples. I agree. (and I'm a chick) HOWEVER- please understand that this service will show up on your receipt. Also- please understand that some of the billing systems in hotels don't have the capability to remove said ordered service. You can change your method of payment so that it will not appear on your company/family/wife's/hooker's credit card- but it will ALWAYS be on the receipt. It won't say PORNO!! or THIS GUYS WATCHED A DIRTY MOVIE!!! It will read: "service"
I am not lying to you- I promise. I wish I could make it disappear, but I cannot. It just doesn't work that way. SO PLEASE DO NOT FUCKING YELL AT ME, CALL ME STUPID, BELITTLE MY EXISTENCE OR BLAME ME FOR YOUR DREADFUL MANAGER THAT WILL SCRUTINIZE YOU FOR YOUR MOVIE VIEWING HABITS DESPITE THE FACT THAT YOU PAID FOR IT YOURSELF!!! If it was that serious- you should have asked the clerk at the desk prior to ordering your film. Besides- when you treat me like a dog I'm gonna be a bitch. I go to the back and look up what porn you watched and make fun of you behind your back. :-)
4) Lost & Found items: Look asshole, its not my fault you left your oh so special $400 pair of jeans in your room last week. So don't call me and bitch me out or get cranky with me over it. If it meant that much to you- wouldn't you have left it in the first place. I will always take down your info, send it to the housekeeping manager and if its found- I will ship it to you. Its no problem. Its what I am here for. Just don't be a dick about it. An error on your part- does not constitute an emergency on my part.
5) Times are a changin'. The economy is wonky- and our room rates will in fact fluctuate based on operating costs and occupancy. Its the law of the land folks. I understand sir, that you stayed with us last year and your room rate was $, however since you called your reservation in 5 minutes before you were to arrive, and we only had 2 rooms left to sell in the entire joint, your rate is going to be higher. Its nothing personal- and its not my choice. Some suit and tie is sitting in an office somewhere getting out the lube so that he may ass fuck you....not me. :-) SUPPLY AND DEMAND PEOPLE!!!! Besides, we have you initial the rate when you check-in so it shouldn't be a surprise in the morning. So please do not come to me and give me an attitude about it. You wouldn't go to the grocery store for a gallon of milk then take it to the cashier and say, "Well, last week I only paid $2.35 for a gallon of milk....so.....that's all I am going to pay today."
6) If you want your prostitute to have a key to your room- give her one or put her name on the reservation so that I may give her one. I can take her name off in the morning if you'd like- that way nobody will know your little secret. But please, oh please, don't have your hooker come to the desk and demand a key to your room. I cannot give her one unless you personally told me to. Its against policy. Your hooker will most likely be cracked out and cause a scene (which by the way- is HILARIOUS) and then I have to call our little cop friend to have her removed. (which is also pretty fucking funny) but the cop car sometimes causes distress among our other guests. And I don't like that. I want them to relax and enjoy staying with us just as I want the same for you. Seriously.
The moral of the story- don't yell at the front desk clerk and don't be stupid. I want to make your stay as enjoyable as possible and I want you to come back. And here is a secret: I work harder and go the extra mile for guests who are kind, patient in the face of adversity, and respect my position......which means sometimes I "accidentally" upgrade them to a suite at no extra cost, adjust the long distance off of their bill once in a while, remember their names, let them watch TV in the board room if the lobby is too full, I even let a guest feel me up once! (ok- that last one was a joke)
Thanks for staying & do come again!

Front Desk Clerk
I am a Front Desk Clerk..
I have advanced degrees in accounting, public relations, marketing, business, computer sciences, civil engineering and Swahili.
Of course I have the reservation you made six years ago, even though you do not have a confirmation number and think it was under a name that starts with an "S."
It isn't a problem for me to get two connecting, non-smoking, pool side, downstairs outside suites (with two king size beds in each), four rollaways, and yes, I would be happy to install a wet bar in each room and stock them at no charge. Of course it is my fault we don't have a helicopter-landing pad.
I am a front desk clerk - I am expected to speak all languages. It is obvious to me that when you booked your room for Friday, that you really meant Saturday. My computer has entrusted me with all our financial information and decisions. Of course I remember that when you were here four years ago we accidentally charged you for a 72 cent long distance call you hadn't made and will make sure it doesn't happen again.
I understand that MacGillegetty's Widget Manufacturing Corp. is a vast empire that can make or break our hotel. Yes I am lying when I tell you we have no more rooms available. It's not a problem for me to quickly build two more so we can accommodate you and this time I will include a helipad.
I am a front desk clerk - I am quite capable of checking three people in, two people out, taking five reservations, answering twelve telephone calls and unplugging the toilet in 420, all at the same time.
I also know where the best vegetarian, kosher, Mongolian BBQ restaurants are. I also know exactly what to see and do in this city in less than fifteen minutes and at no cost.
I take personal blame for airline delays, traffic jams, rental car flat tires and the national debt. I should have realized that you meant to make your reservation here and not the "Galaxy Delight Motel" down the street and that you are entitled to the special five dollar discount because you're a member of the Accounting and Bagel Club of North America. Yes I will be happy to cash your Japanese travelers checque for 10,000 yen into Canadian currency. Even though it is Sunday morning, I am constantly aware of the exchange rate for all the world's currencies, after all, I am a front desk clerk.
We are expected to smile, empathize, sympathize, console, upsell, downsell, (and know the difference), perform, sing, dance and fix the computer (all at the same time).
I am a front desk, I can do all things…(and look busy when the boss is nearby).

Advice
Its Valentines Day here in america, and well that’s all wonderful and great for the people in love, it sucks for the people who have to “wait” on them.
Take the poor desk clerk who has to answer the 1000 calls and listen to you grope about not being able to grope your hunny, because you did not book a room a week ago. You (if you’re the hunny) did not have the one single most greatest idea ever on the plant this weekend, EVERYONE did(to get a room). It also happens to be a long weekend here in Florida because of Daytona 500, and presidents day,on Monday. So all the local Miami- Cubans, have come to the center of the most magical place and booked us full. All the drunken sports fans wives’ have crowded the hotels and taken there little ankle biters to the 2nd most crowded weekend at magical doo da land. I guess its part cabin fever, and everyone just gets away or something, but It annoys us … the desk clerks.
So, I am sorry You didnt realise they sold so fast? Well arent you special. and I mean back-of-the-short-bus special! Have there been any cancellations? Well, since I just told you we're sold out.... NO.
No, stop pestering me and begging me to "help a guy out, man." Since I have no rooms, I have nothing to offer. Expect the storage room, thats nice and romantic. Just get passed the smell of old beer, work your way passed the broken bottles to the back where we keep the rollaways and you're good! There isnt any TV, But im sure the sounds of other people making sweet love in the rooms beside you will be more than enough entertainment.
Seriously, I get calls for Vday rooms almost every 20 minutes.
Also:
If it is Saturday morning, and you havent booked a room, stay home please. Please don’t Come into my hotel , at 11pm begging me for a room. I don’t have anything! You, probably knew last night you needed a room, why not just call and make a reservation? Why not “jump” on expedia, hotel hotline, priceline, free rooms… what ever you choose and book a room? Why do people do ½ the things they do? I suppose it will always be a mystery.
Words of advice, BOOK A ROOM

Security Guards
I could write tons (and I may) on the security guards that I know.
But the one I currently work with, has me so pissed right now.
This weekend is Daytona 500 and Valentines weekend at Disney (think proposals) our hotel is booked... why is this man taking off this weekend? I swear when it comes to work, these people certainly know how to avoid it.
I think I also have the right to be pissed at my boss. He didn't put anyone on the schedule together, and he o.k'd this jack ass to be off.
WHY DO SOME PEOPLE GET POSITIONS IN HOTELS IF THEY HAVE NO IDEA!?

City Taxes
an old man was checking out this morning, and said there was to many taxes on his bill. All the wile, he was staring at my breasts.
I turned the bill around and said, sir, there is only TITTY TAX on the bill.
I meant to say, City Tax, honestly!!!
He looked up at my face and walked away. Wile the security guard, and I laughed so hard, we were crying.

Rom- a- da
Middle Eastern people crack me up. I love there American accent's sometimes fall short and you have to decipher what they are trying to say. My hotel is across from two Ramada hotels. I don't know why they have 2 in the same area, but this is the way it is.
My hotel is not hard to find, however, you need to be looking for it. The sign is WAYYYY up in the air, and we share a parking lot with a steak house. Wile giving directions, we usually say, we are next to the Ramada that has blue florcent around the building. But when foreigners come, they say which ROM A DA are you? and it always takes you back for a second, before you start to laugh. ROM A DA??? OH RAMADA raaaaamaaaaaadaaaaa. We are not some "Jewish holiday" we are a hotel... Keep looking until you find us.

all about my shift
I work the over nights. Typically that is when most Americans are sleeping. From the hours 11pm-7am you will find me bright eyed and bushy tailed, being a smart ass to people who ask me weird questions. The past few nights though, I have been exhausted, and not so into a good sleeping pattern at home. I'm chalking this up to a co worker getting me sick, first time in 6 years. I have completed my work no later then 2 am and have taken little snoozes during the night. All this would be o.k. if I wasn't down and out snoring loudly and waking my self up. I have been Checking people out and not even remembering it, answering phone calls and transferring calls. I suppose these little naps aren't helping my day time sleeping either, so they have to stop, I suppose.
